Ahhhh, this is just such a good beer. Chris was impressed two weeks ago, and I too, when we drank it in the Hebrides. The aromatics are brilliant; warm, round, dark citrus – think orange – with peach and apricot. Almost raisin, some apple roundness.

The flavour is very interesting, I’d forgotten how oaty it is. Some pine and grapefruit citrus, quite mealy. For me this would work as a great session beer, although the price probably prohibits that. It’s just damned good, the aromas particularly. The Hardknott guys make very focused, round, fun beers that are most importantly an absolute joy to drink.
